Ulagalla Resort on ETV

Ulagalla Resorts

Ulagalla Resort is an ancient Mansion and of great value to Sri Lankan history. It has been the abode of many chieftains whose area of rule extended from Ulagalla in Rajarata to Padaviya in the northern province. The position of chieftain has passed from father to son through generations and these families have all influenced the Mansion. The Mansion has been restored to its original state, developed and furnished to retain its own distinctive character - it revives the gracious aristocratic lifestyle of the colonial era in the ancient capital.
Ulagalla Resort is ideally located in the hamlet of Tirappane, 40 km north of Dambulla on the Dambulla - Anuradhapura road. Anuradhapura is just 20 km from the resort and it is extremely convenient to access the cultural triangle sites and other historic sites from Ulagalla Resort.
The property borders two ancient reservoirs and the lower level of the mansion is the reception/ lobby area; it also includes a coffee lounge and fine dining restaurant on the upper floor. Ulagalla Resort consists of 20 elegantly laid out luxury chalets scattered over an unrestricted area of 58 acres. Most of the chalets overlook the reservoir while some overlook the resort's flourishing paddy fields. These paddy fields give our valued guests an opportunity to experience the traditions of paddy cultivation in Sri Lanka first-hand. Keeping with our “Go Green” concept, 50% of the energy requirement of the resort is generated through solar power; the resort has the largest solar farm in the country with a capacity of 125 KVA.
In majority, this eco-friendly resort was made using mostly green building material, Durra, and is also LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Silver Certified. The resort did not cut down any trees during construction and even planted over 1,000 root balled trees on the property. Fresh organic fruits and vegetables are available for guests right from our garden.
Each chalet consists of a floor area of 800 sq. feet which include a separate living area. The chalets are furnished with elegance and refinement while combining state-of-the-art amenities. Each chalet also offers a tranquil courtyard and private plunge pool. Our chalets are able to accommodate handicapped guests comfortably.
The property also a boasts a 30-metre fresh water swimming pool and electric cars to shuttle guests within the vast grounds. Our team of highly qualified chefs will create gourmet cuisine to suit the individual needs of every guest. A spa is available to rejuvenate the mind while an extensive fitness centre is available to help you stay in shape. Recreational facilities such as horse riding, archery, pool tables, kayaking and many others are available.

Dolphin Beach -Kalpitiya

In Sri Lanka, just two hours from the airport and three hours north of Colombo, is an unspoilt peninsula of golden sand. Here lies a blissfully secluded hotel with luxury tented accommodation on alankuda beach. The bluest of skies melts seamlessly into the azure of the Indian Ocean to make a picture-perfect backdrop to a unique, tailor-made tropical holiday experience. Welcome to Dolphin Beach Resort Kalpitiy a !.
This new concept of stylish, eco-beach accommodation is for the discerning traveller in search of an unforgettable holiday. Spacious and comfortable air conditioned tents present a world of romance with a unique ambience and view of the sea.
Experience the thrill of sea safaris to the nearby Reef for the best Sri Lanka has to offer in snorkeling and be entertained by the Dolphins and Whales on your way. Enjoy the tranquil ocean with the most beautiful coral gardens of Sri Lanka. Or just work hard on your tan. Even the sunsets are the spectacular kind and a perfect end to idyllic days, everyday. We don't have a pool at the moment but you could use the pool of our sister hotel Bar Reef Resort or our partner hotel Palagama Beach which are located no more than a fifteen minute walk up the alankuda beach. It is probably one of the best places in Sri Lanka for kite surfing during the low season with very high wind conditions.
